AI Deepfake CEO Fraud: The $25 Million Heist Your Company Can't Ignore

Phase 3 — Urgency engineering. Attackers craft a pretext that demands immediate action — a surprise acquisition, a regulatory deadline, a confidential settlement. Urgency bypasses normal verification instincts.
Phase 4 — The call. The target employee receives a call or is invited to a "secure video meeting." They see and hear their CEO. The request is made. The transfer is authorized.
Phase 5 — The money moves. Funds are routed through a chain of accounts — often overseas — and are virtually unrecoverable within hours.
Why Traditional Security Training Is No Longer Enough
For decades, security awareness focused on teaching employees to spot obvious signs: poor grammar in emails, suspicious sender addresses, strange URLs. Deepfakes obliterate those signals.
